A. Yes, unless she is unable to due to sickness, in which case the course will be rescheduled.
A. Experience is not essential just a passion for makeup.
A. The courses are great as a starting point for budding makeup artists or for established makeup artists to update their skills, but as a makeup artist, you are always learning.
A. It depends on your prior experience and confidence but if you have the determination there is nothing to stop you. Lucy will give you the tools you need to set up your business on day 4 of the Art of Bridal Beauty course.
A. Of course, you will always be welcome at the Lucy Jayne Makeup Academy if you ever need advice or support. It would also be great to hear from you to celebrate your successes as you embark on your makeup career! You will gain new makeup friends from your class and also on Lucy’s private networking group that is available for all past students. It has become a welcoming LJ Makeup community and there is ALWAYS support and advice for students, as well as job and assisting opportunities.
A. On completion, you will receive a Professional Beauty accredited diploma certificate. Professional Beauty has assessed the courses and teaching methods at the Lucy Jayne Makeup Academy and has approved our courses to be insured. You will need to be insured to work as a makeup artist and your certificate will also be the criteria needed to obtain professional discounts. This will all be discussed in your course! I also photograph you working in action and also your completed makeup looks so you have some great work to kick-start your portfolio.
A. It will be small classes so there won’t be more than 4.
A. The starting age is 16.
A. All makeup products and disposables will be supplied at the academy. Every makeup artist needs a great set of brushes. If you have your own that’s great otherwise there is a course kit you can purchase for £43.99 this will include a quality set of brushes. For other items, you will need is pen and camera (or camera phone) to photograph your makeup. You will be provided with an information book, coursework, and refreshments. Lunch is not provided.
Students don’t have to purchase the kit but you will need a professional set of brushes. Please feel free to contact Lucy Jayne if you are unsure.
A. The Lucy Jayne Makeup Academy is located in the picturesque coastal location of Herne Bay in Kent.
A. Training is mainly practical so you will need to practice what you have learned on a real face. You will be mainly working on your classmates but on the final day, you will be required to bring in your own model for two hours. Professional models are not necessary but a lovely friend or relative that would be happy to help you out will be great.
A. You are able to work on a classmate if there are even numbers or I can source a model but there may be an additional fee.
A. Lucy Jayne requires a deposit at the time of booking and the final balance will be required two weeks prior to the course start. Payment can be made via direct debit. If for any reason there is a cancellation of the course you are booked on you will receive a full refund or offered the option to defer to another date. If you are unable to attend the course your place can be deferred to another date. If you need to cancel all courses are non-refundable. The Lucy Jayne Makeup Academy will endeavor to give students at least 24 hours’ notice of any cancellation.
